Thirteen Rights - A Global Bill of Rights for Women
Thirteen Rights is a document created by the Worldwide Women's Integrated Society for Everyone and Everything to ensure that every human female born any where human beings live is entitled to and will have as birth right all the following freedoms and protections as set forth in The Global Bill of Rights.
We Wise Women have declared that is our mission is to make these laws in their full and complete expression the laws of every land every where and for these laws in their entirety to be fully enforced and followed by all human societies. We Wise Women believe freeing women in society is the most important progress for the betterment of the human species and the earth itself.
We invite the men and the women of all human societies to join us in providing and upholding these laws. We hold that these rights of women need to be declared and made law in all the lands inhabited by human people.
1. We claim the right to vote in all elections. The laws of every country will provide safe, free and available access to voting facilities.
2. We claim Equal Representation in the government. Women shall be part and party to the functioning of the government of their country. This includes but is not limited to equal representation in the governing bodies of businesses, banks, financial businesses, and the military.
3. We claim the right to assemble and access to communication. By this we mean that women have the right to gather in groups without male supervision or approval and we have the right and access of communication with any person or organization. We claim free and unsupervised access to all methods of communication.
4. We declare that Females will be educated equally to the males in every society in quality, scholarship, access and duration. Education is to include athletics - that is complete access to sports facilities and equal rights to train and compete. Education is to include the arts and that is to include the right to perform these arts and the access to public space for the performance or display of all art forms. Funds for education, athletics and the arts for females will be spent in an equal amount to the funds spent on males.
5. We claim freedom of Movement. Females have the right to drive any vehicle any man can drive. We claim the right to go anywhere in or out of our country without permission or consent of another person. We claim the right to own vehicles in our own name and the right and freedom to be licensed to drive by oneself any vehicle any man is licensed to drive. We demand safe and free access to all facilities that provide such licenses.
6. We claim freedom of marriage or non-marriage that is the right to choose a mate or a lover. Neither minor females nor adult woman can be married as part of contracts that have been arranged for her and not by her-nor can any woman or female child be sold into sexual or domestic slavery. Women claim the right to exit marriage or a marriage-like situation, the right to divorce and after divorce the right to equal share of property, investments, goods, the right to decide the welfare of the children, and equal access to the children as physical persons.
7. We claim the right to carry weapons for protection against rape. Provisions will be made in the laws to allow self-defense against rape, physical harm to women's person or that of her family. Acts of self-defense will be not result in persecution or retribution even if the female's actions result in the injury or death of her assailant.
8. We claim the right to own property Every woman has the right to own property entirely under her power and in her name. Property includes but is not limited to houses, cars, and commercial businesses. Every woman has the right to do business on her own and in her own name.
9. We claim the right to work at any occupation that men can be employed at and to be paid at the same rate that our male counter part would be paid. We claim equal rights and access to the public workplace.
10. We claim the right to the physical appearance of own choosing-that is every female can appear in public in clothing, adornment or cosmetics of her own choosing without retribution by the laws or customs of that society.
11. We claim the right to birth control and fair, affordable and reasonable access to all information concerning birth control as well as the actual methods of birth control.
12. We claim the right to safely terminate a pregnancy and the fair, affordable and safe access to methods and facilities that aid in the termination of any pregnancy. Conversely, we claim the right to keep and raise any child that we have given birth to in or out of legal marriage.
13. We claim the right of sanctity of our female genitals. In no human society will it be legal to mutilate or alter the Genitals or any other body part of a female child or female adult.
